South Indian breakfast




South Indian cuisine is very vast as it comprises of cuisines from five south Indian states –Tamilnadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. In these states there are also local cuisines which are known for their unique and delicious recipes e.g. chettinad cuisine, Udupi cuisine etc.

Well, I know many of you think of only of idly and dosa when someone talks about south Indian food.  But, believe me there is more to it than just idly and dosa for breakfast in south India. Other than the different varieties of dosas and idly there is the famous pongal sweet and savoury, idiyappam again made with rice, the world famous poori made from atta as well as refined flour, adai made with the blend of lentils, rice sevai or let’s say Indian noodles plain or flavoured and the likes. 

Well here are some of the mouth-watering dishes that I have had since my childhood form my mom’s kitchen.  I sincerely hope that you enjoy the dishes like I did.
